Military Affairs Education Portal FAQ
Military Affairs Education Portal is an online learning platform designed to support members of the military and veteran community, including transitioning service members, veterans and military spouses, on their path to gaining critical skills and training to launch a meaningful career in the growing technology industry.
You will use your LinkedIn account email and password to register for access to the Education Portal. If you do not have a LinkedIn account, you will need to create an account.
We use LinkedIn for identity management and verification.
There is no cost for the training provided in the Military Affairs Education Portal.
MSSA provides onsite, instructor-led training for high-demand careers in cloud development, cloud administration, cybersecurity administration, or database and business intelligence administration. The 18-week (or two nine-week terms) program offers graduates an opportunity to interview for a full-time job at Microsoft or one of our hiring partners.

Microsoft Military Spouse Technology Academy (MSTA) provides an intensive 22-week onsite, instructor-led training program designed to empower military spouses with in-demand digital skills leading to well-paying and meaningful careers.

You do not have to apply to MSSA or MSTA programs to gain access to courses in the Military Affairs Education Portal. Those who have signed up to either MSSA or MSTA will have access to additional trainings in line with their selected learning path.

No, your currently do not get any continuing education credits for courses in the Education Portal.
Please email MSMilEd@microsoft.com and request your account to be upgraded. You must include following information with the email:
- First Name and Last Name
- Your Education Portal Username
- Email associated with your LinkedIn account
- Learning Path
- MTA Voucher Code- You may have received a voucher code from one of our academic partners or the Microsoft Military Affairs team.
Please email MSMilEd@microsoft.com and request your account to be upgraded as an Enrolled user. You must include following information with the email:
- Student ID
- First and Last Name
- Your Education Portal Username
- Email associated with your LinkedIn account
- Cohort Location
- Learning Path
- Cohort ID
